Children’s Obesity Fund
Every day there’s a new media story about the growing rate of obesity in America. It’s an epidemic the headlines scream. And unfortunately, it affects both adults and children. The Children’s Obesity Fund seeks to educate parents, teachers, and other care givers about this situation and help reverse this serious health threat particularly for our children. On this website, you will find information about nutrition and exercise (key components to a healthy lifestyle), opportunities for involvement, an offer of support, and recent news stories about the issue. Our goal is to increase awareness and understanding of how to raise healthy and happy children and make sure that ensuing generations are strong and live vital, active lives.
Westport Heights Elementary Stay Fit, Have Fun Event
May 10, 2013 saw Children’s Obesity Fund visiting Westport Heights Elementary School to hold a Stay Fit, Have Fun event. This event not only provided education on the importance of healthy eating and exercise, but also a skateboard demonstration from pro-skateboarder Manny Santiago, who co-sponsored the event.
